Mr. Gary L. Hopson age 58 of Canton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Northside Cherokee following an extended illness. Mr. Hopson was born on July 16, 1964, in Belton, TX. the son of Edward Hopson and Martha Nell Balusek.

Gary was a loving and caring father, “Pops”, brother, uncle & friend. Gary always had a smile on his face. He was the first phone call for most when in a bind - he was just that kind of guy! Gary was a kind and simple man that loved his family and friends. He enjoyed BBQ, being around his grandkids, and being a Texan. When he was not working, you could find him hanging out at his favorite restaurant talking with his friends, or spoiling his grandkids.

His parents, brothers, Douglas Hopson and Donald Hopson, and a sister, Rita Hopson preceded him in death. Gary is survived by James and Carl Hopson (brothers), Margaret Cervenka and Shelia Juranek (sisters), Aly Simpson, Danielle Hague, and Matt Puett (children), Janet Stallings (ex-wife), Finley and Murphy Simpson, Owen Hague, and Leo Puett (grandchildren) as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will meet with friends at Canton Funeral Home and Cemetery at Macedonia Memorial Park located in Canton, GA, for a celebration of life on Wednesday evening, March 29, 2023, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Flowers will be accepted at Canton Funeral Home and Cemetery at Macedonia Memorial Park on Wednesday prior to the service.
