IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald
Mancini
July 7, 1948 – February 22, 2026
Don Mancini passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving
family. He was 77 years old.
Born on July 7, 1948, in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Don was shaped by the determination, loyalty, and
strong family values of his Italian roots. After high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served
two tours in Vietnam. During his service, a friendship from home quietly grew into something more
meaningful, as his future wife faithfully wrote to him while he was overseas. When he returned home, that
connection became the foundation of a lifelong partnership built on love, strength, and devotion.
Don began his career at the local steel mill. While working full-time, his drive to provide more for his
growing family led him to attend night school, ultimately earning a college degree through sacrifice and
determination. He went on to become a successful executive, moving his family a couple times and
providing them with an abundant life, before returning to Pennsylvania to close-out a very successful
career.
Of all his accomplishments, Don was most proud of his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father
to Damien and Dina, and an adoring grandfather to Mason, Karli, Evan, and Rhylee. Known lovingly as
"Tata" — a name passed down from his own father — he found his greatest joy in being close to his
grandchildren after retiring and moving to Georgia. His world revolved around his family. He would do
anything for them, without hesitation. That selfless devotion will remain the heart of his legacy.
Don's devotion extended far beyond his immediate household. He would do anything for his siblings and
remained deeply connected to his extended family, often traveling long distances to visit cousins and stay
close to those he loved. Family was not just a priority in his life — it was his life.
Don was also a fiercely loyal friend and neighbor. If someone needed help — whether moving furniture,
fixing something broken, or tackling a tough project — he showed up. Stronger than most men his age,
gifted with the ability to fix almost anything, and extremely reliable, he took pride in caring for what he
owned and helping others care for what they valued. His home was meticulous, his tools organized, and
his cars immaculate. You would never find a light bulb out in Don Mancini's house.
He loved classic cars, woodworking, storytelling, and being the life of the party. A creative craftsman and
exceptional cook, famous for his perfectly crisp and tasty chicken wings served during Steeler games. He
demanded respect and gave it in return, forgave quickly, and believed deeply in taking care of what — and
who — you value.
Over the past 14 months, Don battled cancer with extraordinary courage. After spending nearly 80 days in
the hospital in early 2025, he made what his family considers a miraculous recovery, demonstrating
unwavering faith and a love so strong it drove him to fight for more time with those he cherished. Even in
his hardest days, his strength came from his devotion to family. He won that battle, reclaimed his time with
the people he loved so much, and ultimately left this world on his terms — at home, surrounded by his
loving family.
Don lived a life of service — to his country, to his community, and above all, to his family. He will be
remembered as a man who gave more than he took, loved without reservation, and showed up whenever
he was needed.
He is deeply loved, profoundly missed, and forever present in the lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emilio and Rose Mancini; his twin brother, Father Dominic
"Mimo" Mancini; and his sister, Emily "Joanne" DeLuca.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Mancini; his son, Damien (Holli) Mancini; his daughter,
Dina (Aaron) McCavitt; and his cherished grandchildren, Mason and Karli Mancini, and Evan and Rhylee
McCavitt.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on March 14th at his neighborhood clubhouse located in Soleil
Laurel Canyon, Canton, GA. Family and friends are invited to gather in honor of Don's life and the love he
shared with so many.
