Richard "Dick" R Perry

Richard R. (Dick) Perry, age 73 of Cumming, GA, passed away on Monday, March 23. Dick was born in Wichita, Kansas and later moved with his family to Fort Smith, Arkansas where he grew up. He attended Northside High School and following graduation, continued his education at the University of Arkansas, where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. Dick also served in the Air National Guard, serving out of Lackland Air Force Base.

His career was centered around the world of transportation. He worked for several logistic companies before joining UPS Supply Chain where he was a Director in Sales and Engineering. He retired from UPS after 23 years.

He had many interests, but music was something he was passionate about. He appreciated the craftsmanship of a quality guitar and a well written song. He also enjoyed fishing and had a true love of cars. As a man of faith, he found great comfort in studying the Bible.

Dick was preceded in death by his father Ray Perry and his mother Peggy Hatchett Perry, along with several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife Lynn Perry (Orton) and would have celebrated 38 years of marriage in April. He is also survived by his two sisters, Donna Karber and Cindy Corbell and one nephew Dylan Karber. He also had two very special canine companions, our cocker spaniels Bodie and Levi.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Canton Funeral Home and Cemetery at Macedonia Memorial Park, 10655 East Cherokee Dr. Canton, GA 30115. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and a memorial service will commence at 1:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow the service.
