IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rebecca Ann
Cockrell
July 2, 1957 – January 24, 2026
Rebecca Ann Cockrell (Rutledge/Arnold) of Fayetteville, Georgia (formerly of Woodstock, Georgia), peacefully went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 24, 2025.
Rebecca—known lovingly to many as Becky—was born on July 2, 1957, at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, to Lora Marlene McElwaney and Harold Wesley Rutledge. She was raised in Forest Park, Georgia, and spent much of the next forty years living throughout the Metro Atlanta area, where she built a life rooted in family, friendship, and love.
Becky married Eddie Arnold, and together they welcomed three children. Their first daughter, Tammy Michelle, was born in November 1971, followed by a second daughter, Tonya Marie, in January 1973. In November 1980, their family was completed with the birth of their son, Joseph Michael.
Becky found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. She loved trips to the beach and the mountains whenever she had the chance, and she enjoyed working on puzzles during quiet moments. At home, she could often be found relaxing in front of the television, enjoying favorites such as The Price Is Right, Dateline, The Dog Whisperer, and her beloved nighttime show, Survivor. She also enjoyed cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons during the fall football season. And if Becky was watching TV, there was a good chance she had her favorite Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate & Caramel Squares close at hand.
Becky cherished many lifelong friendships, but one of the most meaningful was with her dear friend Susan, whom she met in her early teens. Their bond endured through every season of life—celebrating joys, weathering hardships, and always standing beside one another with love and loyalty.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lora Marlene Smith; her father, Harold Rutledge; her sister, Renee Dotson; and her eldest daughter, Tammy Cabrera.
Becky is survived by her daughter, Tonya Morgan (Joe) of Newnan, Georgia; her son, Joseph Arnold of Cocoa Beach, Florida; her grandchildren—Hailey Arnold, Miranda Cabrera, Kylie Vernon, and Jacob Arnold; her sister, Sherry Woodall; her brother, Ricky Rutledge; her nieces, Niki, Torry, and Lauren; and her nephews, BJ and Erik.
Becky will be remembered for her love of family, her loyal friendships, and the quiet comforts that brought her joy. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.Arrangements are incomplete at this time.
