Robert (Bobby) Paul Sinclair, Sr. born on June 1, 1934, to Betty Dolan Sinclair and Paul
Andrew Sinclair, passed away peacefully on November 18th at the age of 90. A native
Atlantan, Bobby attended Marist High School and the University of Georgia. On August
20th, 1960, he married Margaret Buxton in Columbus, GA and a year later they had a
son Robert and four years later a daughter, Betty. They lived in Atlanta until 1970 when
Bobby accepted a job with Rozier Machinery as a Caterpillar heavy equipment
salesperson, and the family moved to Florida. Bobby loved raising his family on the
water in Florida, where he taught his kids to sail, fish and water ski. He was happiest on
the Gulf of Mexico on one of his many boats. He was a self-described “tinkerer” of fixing
boats, lawn mowers and many gadgets. He was an avid reader and had an incredible
thirst for knowledge. His family and friends were constantly amazed at his unbelievable
memory and trivia knowledge. He also enjoyed building things; one time he built
bookcases just to hold the encyclopedias that he bought for his children. He had a
fabulous sense of humor and always had his friends, children and grandchildren in
stitches with his stories of growing up in Brookwood Hills, his time at the University of
Georgia, living in Atlanta and his many boat adventures.
He was an active member of the Bradenton Kiwanis Club for many years and loved the
luncheons, volunteering and connecting with other Bradenton businessmen. In 1989,
Margret and Bobby moved to Lake Lanier where they continued their love of living on
the water and boating. During their years at Lake Lanier, they would become
grandparents to 5 grandchildren. They enjoyed traveling to see their daughter and her
family in California, spending time with their grandchildren in Atlanta, taking cruises and
visiting family and friends.
Bobby is preceded in death by his wife Margaret. He is survived by his son Robert and his wife Cindy,
their children Trey and Sarah and her husband Ryan. His daughter Betty and her husband Marcos and their sons
Marc, Jackson and Andrew and his wife Madi. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Caden, Ella and Aubrey
and his nephews Chip Sites and Paul Sites.
