Norman Cowley

November 15, 1947 — February 2, 2016

Mr. Norman Lee Cowley, 68, of Ball Ground passed away Tuesday February 2nd 2016 from an extended illness.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday February 6th 2016 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Macedonia Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 1PM-2PM prior to the service on Saturday.

Interment will be following the service at Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery.

Norman was born in Newport News, VA into a loving family of wonderful parents and Five older siblings:  John, Roy, Ruth, Paul and Daniel.

Beginning in school he was placed above his class to the second grade He enjoyed and participated in many sports and activities including track, basketball and Sang with Youth for Christ and the coral group, The Dimensions.

Began college at Capital Institute of Technology in Washington, DC. Prior to being called to enlist in military service.  He was assigned to 6th BN, 62nd AADCOM, Army Air Defense, Hawk Missile Ashafenberg, Germany and later he served in the Alabama National Guard.

Retuning to college in Huntsville, AL at the University of Alabama. There, he met and married and began his Electrical career in Calera, AL.

He also worked at Pullman Standard in Bessemer, AL, Herman Miller, Inc in Roswell and Canton and retiring after working for Chris Mixon Electric here in Georgia.

He loved his career first but also loved to fish, hunt, raise a garden and chickens.

He is survived by his wife, Terry, daughter Lisa, son Clay, five grandchildren and one great granddaughter and hundreds of loving friends.
