Matthew Travis Brown

Matthew Travis Brown, 43, of Canton, Georgia, passed away on May 2, 2025. Born on November 11, 1981 in Atlanta Georgia, Matt lived a life full of energy, laughter, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

Matt was a larger-than-life personality who naturally became the life of any gathering. He brought joy to all those around him, and his steadfast loyalty, sincere advice, quick wit, and contagious, fun-loving spirit made him a treasured friend to many. To know Matt was to feel his genuine warmth and boundless enthusiasm.

Above all, Matt’s greatest pride and deepest devotion was to his family. He found his most meaningful role in being a father to his beloved daughter, Eva, who he often described as the apple of his eye and his proudest accomplishment. His love for her was unconditional and evident in every part of his life.

Matt is survived by his loving wife, Fran Cohen Brown; his daughters Eva Brown, Sarah Cohen, and Jamie Cohen; his mother, Delores Scales Brown; his sister, Ashley Brown Guffey; and several cherished nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Hoyt Marvin Brown Jr., and his brother, Hoyt Marvin “Butch” Brown III.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Canton Funeral Home and Cemetery at Macedonia Memorial Park, 10655 East Cherokee Drive, Canton, GA 30115. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 7th, at 11:00 AM at Antioch Christian Church, 3595 Sugar Pike Road, Canton, GA 30115. A graveside ceremony will follow at Macedonia Memorial Park.

Matt's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him, and his legacy of joy, loyalty, and family devotion will never be forgotten.
