Martha Jane Shawd, 93 of Canton passed away quietly after a wonderful life. A lover of the beach, Martha lived many years in the Daytona Florida area where she worked at the Daytona Beach News Journal and later at Daytona Beach State College. Mrs Shawd was predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Pauline Barto and her husband Raymond Gene Shawd. She is survivedby two daughters Sandra Smathers(James) and Elizabeth Ann Long(John) as well as 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday November 9, 2019 at 11:00am at Crabapple First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either Amedisys Hospice, Canton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, or the mission fund at Crabapple First Baptist Church in Milton Ga.
