Joan Weber Ireland, a beloved school teacher whose life touched the hearts of many, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, in Canton, Georgia. Born on September 30, 1934, in Erie, Pennsylvania, Joan was the oldest of six children, growing up on a farm where she developed the hardworking spirit and nurturing nature that would define her life's journey.
Joan earned her bachelor's degree and devoted her career to educating children, becoming a warm and cherished presence in the lives of all her students. It was often said that there wasn't a kid she didn’t like—or who didn’t love her—a testament to her genuine kindness and the good sense of humor she shared with everyone she met.
For seventy years, Joan's heart belonged to her husband, Rex Calvin Ireland, who affectionately called her "Flower," "Posey," and "SweetHeart." Their marriage was a shining example of enduring love and companionship. Together, they raised their family with unwavering devotion. Joan is lovingly remembered by her daughter Tracey Ireland, her brothers James (Jimmy) Weber and David Weber, and her sister Carol Weber Collis, along with their respective spouses. Joan is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Leo Weber, mother Evelyn Barstow Weber, brothers Daniel Weber and Robert (Buddy) Weber, and her son Rex Kevin Ireland.
Beyond her dedication to education and family, Joan’s home was a place of warmth where the aromas of her famous tuna noodle casserole would beckon friends and family alike. She was also an avid knitter, finding peace and joy in this quiet, creative pursuit.
Joan’s life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a spirit that uplifted those fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will linger in the hearts of all who called her mother, sister, friend, and teacher. As we remember Joan Evelyn Weber, we honor a woman whose kindness and grace left an indelible mark on the world around her.
