Joan Elizabeth Millsaps of Canton, Georgia passed away on 12/18/2022. Joan was born on
12/5/1946 to Joseph Watson and Helen Elizabeth Boyd in Rome, Georgia. After Joan graduated
from East Rome High School in 1964, she went on to study accounting at Kennesaw State
University.

Joan spent her early years working as a bookkeeper and in various accounting roles for small-
to-mid sized companies until she met the love of her life and best friend – Richard. Joan met
Richard in 1984 and they spent the next 28 years living life on their terms. She took care of the
books on his construction business, and he took her camping, fishing, and hunting. She will
now join him once again – just in time for Christmas.

Joan was predeceased by her father, Watson “Watt” Boyd, her mother, Helen Boyd, her
husband, Richard Lee Millsaps, and granddaughter, Chloe Daniel Rollins.
She is survived by her brothers, Gerald and Joel Boyd, her son Danny (Stacy) Rollins, daughter
Vicki (Andy) Summers, grandchildren Cory Hester, Desten West, Kelsey Quinn, Taylor Rogers,
Bailey West, Cameron Rollins, Jordyn Summers, Tristan Summers and her great-grandchildren
Zachery, Courtney, and Chandler Hester, Payton West, Wesley Clopein, Rogue West, Grace
Quinn, and Waylen West.

Visitation will take place on Thursday December 22, 2022 from 10:00am until noon. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 noon, all  at  Canton Funeral Home. Interment will take place immediately after Funeral at Lower Yellow Creek Cemetery in Robbinsville NC.
