Jimmy Allen Wimpey, age 72, passed away at home in Canton, GA. Oct. 1, 2015. He was a member of Nine Mile Methodist Church in Ellijay. Jim attended school in Ellijay, Tate and Jasper Ga. He also attended Atlanta Area Tech and Southern Tech in Marietta Ga. He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty five years Regenia Wimpey in 1997.
Jim was a multi talented person who was willing to help anyone who needed a helping hand. He enjoyed restoring old cars going to car shows and auto swap meets. He enjoyed traveling to other countries, dancing, boating,fishing, and working on and repairing anything mechanical. He worked primarily as a heavy equipment mechanic repairing road tractors and trailers. He was also a certified welder and diesel tech. He was a journeyman machinist for Norfolk Southern Railroad, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the International Association of Machines and aerospace Workers. Belonging to the Lodge Number One and Lodge 35 in Atlanta GA
Visitation to be held from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday October 3, 2015 at Macedonia Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Service to be held at 3pm on Sunday October 4, 2015 at 3pm in the Chapel at Macedonia Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Garden of Love in the Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery.
