IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Henry (Lin) Franklin
Holoman Jr.
October 10, 1945 – December 8, 2025
Lin passed away on December 8, after battling Alzheimer's and Vascular
Dementia for many years. He passed at home under hospice care.
Lin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bette Rausch Holoman, of Canton,
GA; daughter, Amy Holoman Sweat of Cumming, GA; grandsons, Tanner
Sweat and Grayson Sweat; son, Christopher Franklin Holoman of
Cumming; brother, Raymond Carter Holoman (Mary Lou)of Greensboro,
NC; nephews, Carter Holoman (Rachel) and his two daughters (Ellie,
Harper), Patrick Holoman, and his three daughters (Addison, Blake,
MacKenzie); Sister-in-law, Kathy Rausch, niece, Jennifer Cornell and her
son (Ellis) of Raleigh, NC; Cousins, Steve Burgwyn, Henry Burgwyn, Jo
Burgwyn, Anna Burgwyn and Molly Burgwyn, all of North Carolina; Mark
Fowler of White Plains, New York; Ted Burns of Florida and Pattie
Amundson of North Carolina.
Lin was born in Edgewood, Arsenal, Maryland to Frank and Ruby Holoman.
He was raised by his parents in Woodland, North Carolina. Lin attended
Wake Forest University and was in the ROTC program there. His career in
finance spanned 44 years at multiple financial institutions in North Carolina,
Tennessee, and Georgia.
Lin and wife Bette were married in Plymouth, NC in 1975, and lived in
North Wilkesboro and Raleigh, NC, Nashville, Tennessee, and Roswell and
Canton, GA over the past 50 years.
Lin enjoyed playing golf, tennis, bridge, hunting, fishing, boating, reading
novels, watching movies and sports, cooking pig, and traveling, but his
greatest joy came from serving others.
Lin attended church regularly and served as an usher, Sunday School
teacher, Stephen Minister/leader, on the church session, food pantry
volunteer, and headed a Racial Reconciliation Council at Roswell
Presbyterian Church. He was on the board of two non-profit organizations,
Every Women Works, and Family Promise of Forsyth County. Lin served as
a board member and president of our neighborhood HOA.
Lin was an outstanding pig cooker and sold pig roasts at Silent and Live
Auctions at fundraisers for non-profit organizations. His team of friends
raised a great deal of money to benefit families and individuals in need. He
taught budgeting classes to women returning to the workforce and
recovering from addiction.
Lin truly made a difference in the community and touched many lives. God
lead him to a life of serving and he responded with all his heart. We were
blessed to have him for 80 years.
Rest in heavenly peace Lin.
Friends, please consider donating to the Alzheimer's Association. This
disease is devastating and there is still very little help to reverse it's
progression.
