Glyndell Shaw

March 11, 1930 — May 8, 2016

Ms. Glyndell Hope Shaw passed away Sunday May 8 th 2016 from an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 18 th 2016 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Canton Funeral Home at Macedonia Memorial Park. Entombment will be at Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.  Visitation will be held Tuesday May 17 th from 7-9PM at the funeral home.  Following the service the family will host a meal at the home of Peter Shaw.

Glyndell Hope Shaw, daughter of the late Alethea Williams and Randolph Williams, was born on March 11, 1930 in Bartle, Cuba. She was called home to her eternal rest on May 8, 2016 at Maple Ridge Nursing Home in Cartersville, Georgia.

Glyndell grew up in Port Maria, St. Mary, Jamaica where she met her husband. They migrated to London, England where they were married.  They had two children.

She had a long career as a seamstress until she emigrated to the United States where she became a Nurses Aid.  She moved to Atlanta, Georgia to reside with her son Peter and continued to live in Georgia until her death.

Glyndell is survived by her children Peter Shaw and Paul Shaw. Four grandchildren, Nathaniel Shaw, Noah Shaw, Natalie Shaw and Taylor Shaw.

Glyndell was a loving and compassionate person, who was very independent .  She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.  This beautiful person will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
