Evelyn Eleanor Callahan Norris, lovingly known as “Mimi,” age 84, of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home from natural causes on August 20, 2026.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Evelyn lived a life centered around her faith and her family. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. Her greatest joy was loving and caring for the people God placed in her life.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, James “Jim” Norris; her mother, Stella Tallant; her brother, Richard Callahan; and her sister, Gloria Mulford. She is survived by her children, Mike Norris, Leza Norris, Lorie Wolfe (Jonathan), and Jan Baker; her 10 grandchildren, Ayla, Bailey, Shelby Weishaupt (Jacob), Danielle Decker (Logan), Jordan Castillo (Fernando), Caroline Saxon (Joshua), Alyssa, Hunter, Colyer, and Jack Henry; her six great-grandchildren, Paisley, Freya, Belle, Oakley, Hudson, and Sondae; and her soon-to-be-born great-grandson, Lucas. They lovingly knew her as Mimi.

Evelyn will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering love for her family, and devotion to her faith. She was a member of Eastside Church, where she served faithfully for nearly 40 years. She loved singing in the choir, reading, and especially baking brownies for her grandchildren. The love she gave so freely will live on through the many lives she touched.

Her family has comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she faithfully loved and served. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Eastside Church, 2450 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta, Georgia 30068. A Celebration of Life honoring Evelyn will follow at 11:00 a.m. In celebration of Mimi and the joy she brought to so many, guests are invited to wear a touch of red—her favorite color—in her honor.

Interment will follow the service at Macedonia Memorial Park in Canton, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to honor Evelyn’s memory to consider a charitable contribution to Eastside Church or to Cru, an international Christian ministry focused on evangelism and discipleship, with which Evelyn’s granddaughter, Ayla Norris, has faithfully served for the past nine years.
