Elizabeth Chester

July 9, 1927 — February 20, 2016

Elizabeth (Wolfbrandt) Chester Born July 9th 1927 in Camden, New Jersey died February 20th 2016 in Canton, Georgia.

Mrs. Chester resided 84 years in Glassboro, NJ.  She was a 1945 graduate of Glassboro High School playing hockey, basketball and was a cheerleader.  She was a member of Pitman United Methodist Church since 1954 and a member of Glassboro Rainbow Girls 2nd OES Glassboro Chapter 234.  At the age of 7 she sang “The Old Spinning Wheel” in a vaudeville competition on the Pitman Theatre stage and tied for first place.  “Betty” enjoyed bowling, cards and traveling to Japan, Europe, Caribbean, Mexico and throughout the USA including Hawaii and GHS reunions.

Mrs. Chester is preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Emil Wolfbrandt. Sister Lillian and brother James.

She is survived by her husband Robert E. Chester, daughter Kathleen and husband John, and son Robert L. and wife Kim.  Granddaughter Jennifer and husband Eric, granddaughter Katie and husband Kyle, grandson Zach and wife Emily, granddaughter Chelsea, and 6 great grandchildren.

Inurnment of ashes will be held Thursday, February 25, 2016, 12 noon, at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with grandson Rev. Eric Mansfield conducting the service.
