Elaine Mary Madere Meder, 57, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away on May 3, 2025, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born on October 3, 1967, to the late Warren Charles Madere and Carol Marie Delhommer Madere, in Lutcher, Louisiana. Sister to Peggy, Steven, Judy, Mary Alice, Cathy, and Susan Madere.
At the age of 16, Elaine graduated from Hahnbille high school then attended Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. After graduating with a degree in accounting and passing the CPA exam at age 19, she began her career as a CPA in Atlanta, Georgia.
Elaine was the devoted mother of twelve children: John Meder, Christine (Caleb) Watkins, Mary (Jonathan) Kissee, Joshua Meder, Lauren (Zac) Kieffer, Joseph (Caroline) Meder, Jacob (Tori)
Meder, James Meder, Jeremiah Meder, Jayben Meder, Abigail Meder, and Anna Meder. Beloved Glammy to Audrey Meder, Eason Watkins, Adeline Watkins, Harper Kissee, Savannah Watkins, Hudson Kissee, Jackson Watkins, Leo Kieffer, and Blakely Meder.
Hosting family dinners and attending special family events were always priorities that Elaine held dear. She loved traveling both near and far, exploring new places as well as returning to favorite destinations like the beach and relatives’ homes. Some of Elaine’s most treasured moments were spent serving others through the Church on the Street Ministry. She consistently strived to exceed work expectations, demonstrating determination, honesty, a willingness to learn new skills, and a readiness to accommodate any request. Lastly, Elaine loved to sing and play the piano—even at 2 a.m. when everyone else was asleep. Whether the songs were new or old, she was always singing.
