Charles Edgar Botts, age 58, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 following a brief illness.

Charles was born in Talking Rock to the late Cicel Kenneth Botts and Onie Lee Stiles Botts.  Charles enjoyed his years as a truck driver for P.D.I., Inc., Winnelson Co., and Baits Lumber Company.  He loved playing on the PS4 with his brother, Shorty and his grandson, Myliki.  He also enjoyed playing outside with his grandson, Marcus.  Charles had an infectious personality and he loved to make people laugh.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheena Buchanan; brothers, Clinton Botts and Gerald Botts.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Tammy Botts of Canton; children, Felix Young (Victoria) of Polk County, Robert Young Jr. of Cherokee County, Misty Nix of Fannin County, David McClarty (Lori) of Cherokee County, Randy Buchanan (LeeAnn) of Bartow County, Chris Botts of Bartow County, Monica Botts of Cherokee County, and Travis Botts (Courtney) of Cherokee County; sister and brothers, Joan Davis (Bobby) of Arkansas, Robert Botts of North Carolina, Kenneth "Bo" Botts of Cherokee County, Floyed "Shorty" Botts of Cherokee County, and Tim Botts (Candy) of Cherokee County; sister in law, Mona Botts of Ringgold; 24 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by special friends, Danny Key and David "Hoppie" Hughens.

The family will receive friends from 4-8:00 P.M. Monday at Canton Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Shoal Creek Baptist Church, 4967 Fincher Road, Canton.  The Reverend Scott Boiser and the Reverend Danny Key will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to assist with funeral expenses.

Charles was a loving and giving person.  His legacy will live on through his selfless donation through LifeLink of Georgia.  One tissue donor can restore health and heal the lives of more than 75 people.

Canton Funeral Home and Cemetery at Macedonia Memorial Park has charge of arrangements.
